Aged Tomes

This picture is the prompt on Magpie Tales.

One day this week, another prompt from One Stop Poetry was about a new poem form called an Octain. I decided to have a try and didn’t get it quite right. So, me being me, I had to have another go in the hope that this time, I do get it right. So here goes,

The books that stand the test of untold time,
Reside on shelves of onyx deep,
History their charge to safely keep,

Reflections cast so blindly sublime,
With leather bound, words so profound,
Wealth of knowledge in such deep abyme,

Aged tomes with wisdom steep,
The books still stand the test of untold time.
